For the past 15 years, Kutumba has been in Doddagubbi and has been working with families in the village to encourage and strengthen community participation.
Several classes for the parents have been held to educate them on health and increase awareness on the prevention of and protection from diseases. For the children, we have had sessions addressed by community health workers and nutritionists.

We have had the opportunity to listen to experts in the field enlighten us on how to build communities by focussing on assets and not deficiencies, to plan activities at the grass roots and not top down planning, to promote community participation and engagement.
Volunteers from corporate and public sectors have visited and interacted with our beneficiaries on a regular basis. They brought in the spirit of festivals that is much needed fun for our children.
During the months after the lockdown due to COVID-19, our staff were able to visit the community including families under the day care. The purpose of these visits has been to find out their crucial needs. As part of our services, we distributed rice initially, and thereafter the PorridgeMix made through Kutumba Kitchen.
